Danny
Depoe and Logan Medland - A Tribute to Chet Baker
This duo teamed up for the smash hit play "Time After Time
- the Chet Baker Project" in which Danny performed as Chet
Baker and Logan was the show's musical director and arranger.
The Globe and Mail described Depoe's performance as "So
powerful it could carry a much simple tribute." Logan,
for his work, was nominated for a DORA award. After nine months
on the road the last two years performing in "The Chet
Baker Project" both guys took a break to record. Danny
completed his first CD "Setting Old Standards", and
Logan released his recent album "Something in Blue".
Reunited, these guys are eminently qualified to capture both
the sexiness, the loneliness and the hot and cool magic of Chet.
Logan will be accompanied by Bill Watson/drums and Skip Kutz/bass. |

Dave
Nelson Quartet / John Stetch $15.00/$15.00
8pm |
Dave
Nelson Quartet A stalwart of The Bassment's Tuesday
night jams, the Dave nelson quartet offers up the selection
of standards, Latin and vocal jazz. Playing trumpet and flugelhorn
and contributing vocals, he'll be joined by a mix of seasoned
veterans and rising stars. Just the right touch to open a night
of smooth jaaazzzz.
Pianist John Stetch is known for his improvisational skill and
penchant for challenging convention. He’s also known for his
landmark solo release, Ukrainianism, which managed to pay tribute
to his roots in a piano tour-de-force that stretched the boundaries
of jazz. With his latest, Exceptionally Monk, he’s immersed
himself in the music of the one-and-only Thelonius Monk. Filled
with “passion, pounce and technical brilliance”, the album is
meeting high praise. And just think – you get to hear him LIVE. |
